VAK Learning Styles

As unique individuals we all have different learning and communication styles.  There are varying degrees of this but we all have preferences of how we learn and communicate best by observing, listening or actions. The VAK Learning methodology of Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic learning styles is a tool used to assist in understanding personality preferences and strengths. The VAK Learning Model provides an easy way to match people’s preferences and improve effective communication.

The methodology details the following explanations in relation to learning and communication styles.

Visual learning style involves the use of seen or observed things, including pictures, diagrams, demonstrations, displays, handouts, films, flip-chart, etc.

Auditory learning style involves the transfer of information through listening: to the spoken word, of self or others, of sounds and noises.

Kinesthetic learning involves physical experience – touching, feeling, holding, doing, practical hands-on experiences.
